Not that I'm usually one to defend my fellow media colleagues, but every news organization has an obit on her by now. We just updated ours this week, as well as updating all our obit files. January is usually a good time to do this because it's slow pre-Grammys. This week I had to do Ozzy Osbourne, next week its the keyboardist from the E Street Band that currently has cancer. It's a morbid thing to have to do, but it's something that places like the Times have been doing for decades.
Wow, I can't believe I actually defended what I do for a living. Oh, wait, there's something stupid on TMX--gotta run.

It's TMZ.
And to be fair, those obits are for people who are OLD AND SICK.
She's 24!
Yes, I know its TMZ--my typing skills are a bit rusty today.
Btw, we have ones for Amy Winehouse, Lindsey Lohan and Paris Hilton too. And I'm sure we're not the only ones.
